Welcome to Sydney! (and J2000)

This is going to be an action-packed four weeks. I'll be looking for a post from each of you each morning before class that reflects on the previous day's discussion. I'll also want a longer reflection at the end of the course. More on that later. I'm not looking for politically-correct posts nor do I expect you to parrot my opinions on journalistic diversity. The only rules for this blog: no personal attacks on classmates (or the professor!) and no gratuitous profanity. Let's go.
